We are really gearing up for our portfolio show. This week, we have printed, cut, and stapled about 100 portfolio show books. This was a huge project that my whole class took apart of. It was fun, but time-consuming. It has to get done, but I still have a couple more portfolio projects to get done. I have been putting in many hours of work, don’t get me wrong, I like it, it’s just a stressful/ busy time. I am nervous for the show, but I will know I will have everything done by then, and then I can have a little downtime. After the show, I have a wedding the next week (that I am in), so I won’t be able to walk the stage for graduation, because it’s the day of the wedding.
It’s just a very busy last couple of weeks of school. I am excited for what my future holds, but I am also nervous. I am planning on applying everywhere, just to try and get my foot in the door. We will see what happens. My instructor mentioned that if we can’t get a graphic design job off the bat, we could still apply and try to work in a printing department, and I think that is what I will do. Just so I can see exactly what the final products of the designs would look like. That would give me good experience, and it would be a learning opportunity.
